In November 2024, Hello Kitty celebrates her milestone 50th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, we are once again launching a special Japan-exclusive anniversary collection in collaboration with Liberty Fabrics.

Following the success of Vol.1 last year, we are excited to introduce Vol.2 as part of this special anniversary celebration. While Vol.1 featured Liberty’s signature floral prints, Vol.2 showcases a unique collaboration between Hello Kitty and some of the most beloved designs from Liberty’s past collections—making it a truly fitting tribute to this milestone year.

Strawberry Day
Inspired by William Morris’ iconic Strawberry Thief, this design is a tribute to Liberty’s rich Arts & Crafts heritage and its tradition of intricate fine-line illustrations.

Upon closer look, you’ll find elegant birds arranged in a mirrored layout, surrounded by blooming branches and juicy strawberries—where adorable Hello Kitty characters are playfully hidden among them.

Inspired by the legendary artist, Frida Kahlo, this design celebrates the vibrant floral crowns she often wore in her self portraits. In celebration of Sir Grayson Perry’s 65th birthday, London’s Wallace Collection has curated Delusions of Grandeur, an exhibition on Perry’s life and work. The exhibition’s central muse, Shirley Smith – a character invented by Perry - has inspired his original design for Liberty’s 150th anniversary collection. Conceived by Perry as an outsider artist, Smith’s obsession with the Wallace Collection forms the basis for this eclectic design, where one can spot a crude version of Hertford house as well as various cats which are another noted passion of hers.

Maksimus
Textured colours take centre stage, forming a striking geometric arrangement that immediately draws the eye.
Composed of both contrasting and complementary tones, the rectangular blocks were originally used as colour chips in archival designs.
Typically, these hand-painted blocks were delicately applied along the edges of paper, serving as reference samples or miniature colour palettes.

2025AW From the Studio
In celebration of 150 years of Liberty, ‘From the Studio’ for AW25 stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the London design house. Paying homage to the dedicated artisanship that Liberty has been renowned for since the opening of its Regent Street flagship in 1875, this collection explores the creatives who have shaped the story so far.
