Looking back to Liberty’s 1887 childrenswear department and the enduring charm of smocked dresses from that era, this unusual pattern is a fresh take on our beloved classic, Elysian. Delicate diamond-shaped stitches create a series of textured pleats and folds, creating the illusion of a beautifully nostalgic floral fabric gathered into a garment. This print is part of the Craftsmanship narrative of this collection, exploring the creative process from within the Liberty archive, from print impressions and embroidered studies, to ceramics, jewellery, and furniture.
